The big stars like Semien and Seager were also at the event, but their lines filled up almost immediately, so we took our chance to get these three pitchers to sign. Jon Gray had come off a solid 2022 season in which he posted a 3.96 ERA, and Sborz would be the one to close out the 2023 World Series.
These cards were made specifically for the event, so I don't believe they have a particular identification. If any of y'all know more about these, feel free to correct me.
While I was at the stadium, I also grabbed some dirt from home plate (don't know if that was smart but I did it) and also a 2023 Rangers schedule:
The 2023 season was absolutely magical. Nobody saw the Rangers coming, but they ended up having five all-star starters (six total) and winning the World Series. It was very fun listening to the Rangers every night on the radio, rooting against the Astros and Mariners, and having my hometown players on my fantasy team. Although the Rangers captured the championship in Arizona, I had the privilege of attending a watch party at Globe Life Field, where the game was playing on the megatrons. The stadium went crazy when the game ended, and I may or may not have been splashed with some beer from thrown bottles.
Ain't nothing like it.
Nice. I believe those are team issued cards. I used to go to the Rangers Fan Fests in the early 2000s, getting in line before sun up. In those days you could come home with a dozen or more autographs if you knew how to work the schedule. They were always fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, email your address and I'll send you some autograph dupes if you like.
